Isn't it a privacy violation to share someone's resume?
Not with JobScore. With JobScore the candidate must give permission for their resume to be shared. This permission is secured when the candidate applies to your company and chooses to be recommended for other job opportunities:
When you "Share" a resume you are activating a copy that the candidate owns and has given permission to share. Candidates can log in to update their profile information, block specific employers or completely turn off their profile at any time. For a complete picture of how JobScore works for applicants once their profile has been activated, please review our Job Seeker Tour.
JobScore employers don't expose people's personally identifiable information (PII) through the system. Candidates opt to do this themselves, and you have some control over if and when that happens based on whether you choose to screen, interview and/or hire them.
Finally, no one has access to all of the profile information in the database (unlike typical job board resume databases and social networks). JobScore only shows anonymous profiles to matching employers with real jobs, and the candidate is notified each time their personally identifiable information is released.

How does resume sharing work?
First off, you don't have to share resumes if you don't want to. On SUBSCRIBE plans resume sharing is completely turned off - you simply can't share resumes because you aren't getting candidate's permission to do so. If you are on the SHARE plan, here's how resume sharing works:
1. Your resumes are your own, JobScore never takes them away
JobScore never takes resumes away from you. When you share a resume, you are just sharing a copy. The only thing that can happen with the copy is that the person *might* be recommended for a similar job at another JobScore Network employer.
2. You always get first crack at a resume before it's shared.
Once you have permission to share a resume, it's shared based on the "status" of their job application. When candidates apply they are put into the "new" status by default. Here's how it works from there:
- Hired candidates are not shared.
- Whenever you place a candidate in an "Active" status (i.e. screening, interviewing), they will not be shared.**
- Whenever you decline a candidate, their resume is shared.
- If you ignore a candidate for 5 days, leaving them in the “New” status, their resume is shared.
The spirit of resume sharing with JobScore is that you always get "first look " at candidates that apply to your jobs before their resumes are shared. If you don't want to share specific candidates, just put them in an "Active" status and they won't be shared. To see how easy it is to update a candidate's status, please check out the candidates tab in our live online demo.
** The active status rule supercedes the decline and ignore rules. This means that if a candidate is assigned to two or more jobs and is declined for one but active in any other they will not be shared.
3. You cannot share the resumes you find yourself.
JobScore requires that you have a candidate's permission to share their resume. This means that the resumes you find on your own and add to your account cannot be shared.
4. You are awarded credits for sharing new resumes
Each time you share a resume that's not already in the JobScore Network (a new resume) you are awarded 1 credit. Credits are used to contact recommended candidates that were shared by other employers in the JobScore Network. Awarded credits are only good for 90 days - so use them fast!
Right now resume sharing works the same for everyone, If you have trouble with any of the aforementioned rules, we encourage you to switch from a SHARE to a SUBSCRIBE account here. If you have additional questions about resume sharing, please review our privacy guarantee or please send us an email.
What if I want to use JobScore but I don't want to share specific resumes?
No problem. If you are on the JobScore SHARE plan and don’t want to share a specific resume just set the candidate’s status to "active" and they won’t be shared. If you never want to share resumes but still want to use JobScore, please sign up for one of the JobScore SUBSCRIBE plans.
Do I have to share resumes to use JobScore?
No. Sharing is voluntary. Please see "How does resume sharing work?" above for all of the details.
Why do I need a candidate's permission to share their resume?
Because JobScore may recommend them for an open position at another employer.. and we don't want to recommend anyone without their permission. Our goal is to provide a great matching experience for both employers and job seekers, and getting permission from all parties seems like the best way to ensure a high quality matching experience.
Can my friends at other employers and I share resumes with each other using JobScore?
Yes, but not directly. You can share resumes with every other employer that uses JobScore (including each other) but not only amongst yourselves.
If you and your friends all sign up for the JobScore SHARE plan, JobScore automatically recommends your shared candidates for matching jobs at other employers. Your friend's resumes might be among your recommended candidates, but that depends on each candidate's job preferences and your scoring criteria, not who shared their resume.
When JobScore makes a recommendation, we don't show who shared the resume nor which specific jobs the candidate applied for - that information is kept private. Our focus is on making the best possible matches between every employer that uses JobScore - not just you and your friends.
What do I get for sharing resumes?
See "How does Resume sharing work?" above for details.
